[He rolls his eyes but goes anyway. He comes back with a cherry cola and a beer, handing the desired item off to Kavinsky.] What happened in there?

[Kavinsky takes the beer and cracks it open with a smirk] Someone exploded the pipes or something. There was major leakage.

Then I tried to get something from your crazy fucking forest and the bitch attacked me.

It's probably predisposed to attacking you. It knows who you are now, so asking it needs to be quick and to the point. And if it refuses, you'll have to be fine with that.

How about I just tell it to suck my dick? [He drinks some more beer, then turns his attention back to Adam's paper] You missed a couple commas and you have a run on sentence. Some colorful language would probably make it more interesting, too.

And your way isn't what she was about. [He takes a drink from his soda and gestures to the paper.] Her stories were about true grit and taking the path of most resistance. Lifting yourself up from the sweat of your brow out of nothing to make it to what you want to be.

So you're telling me that she only writes for poor people?

I'm telling you that until recently, you never actually had to work for what you wanted. It's been given to you, or you stole it from your dreams. Where's the worth in that?

At any rate, she was unrealistic about her ideas.

There's plenty of fucking worth in it. [Except that was the problem, for the most part. Nothing had worth, nothing meant anything] You think stealing shit is easy? [He holds up his bandaged palms to show Adam] This is bullshit. This is what's not worth it.

So after all that, she was full of shit.

Not full of shit so much as her ideals conflicted with what actually goes on in the real world. She strove for emotional suppression if it meant they got in your way, and the people she wrote about were always in the right, and everyone loved them for it.

I'd feel devastated. Like nothing else matters because not only can you not use it anymore, but it's right there in front of your face and you can't do shit to get it back.

[Kavinsky is ready for Adam to say something he deems completely stupid, and he's more than ready to retort, but when that's what Adam actually says, he goes quiet for a long moment]

I'm not moving on. Not when all you assholes are so connected to it. [The last thing he wants to feel is left out, even if he thinks all of them are losers. The only saving grace these losers have over his old loser friends is that Adam and co. have Ronan attached to them] I tried working with it, I just didn't know what to do. Lynch has to show me.

[Kavinsky is actually a little thrown by Adam's hasty exit, but he figures it's probably for the best. It's not like Adam would want to give him any insight into Cabeswater anyway. He knows how they feel toward each other is a mutual thing. He finishes his beer, then grabs his bag and decides to give the stupid homework a shot]
